Help with Easy Paint Pro

Answers to the common questions. Still stuck? Send us a message and we’ll reply by email.

Trial and buying

How does the free trial work?

Download Easy Paint Pro and open it. You get 7 days with every tool unlocked. No account and no card needed.

What happens when the trial ends?

Easy Paint Pro becomes view-only: you can still open and look at your pictures, but drawing, editing, saving, exporting, printing and copying stop until you buy. Your files are never deleted, changed or watermarked, and unsaved tabs are kept so you can carry on after you buy.

How do I buy Easy Paint Pro?

Choose Buy now on the download page. Right after checkout your license key appears on screen, and we email it to you too.

Where do I enter my license key?

Open Easy Paint Pro and choose Easy Paint Pro ▸ Enter License Key… Paste the key from your receipt email and click Unlock. Your Mac needs to be online for this one step.

I lost my license key
  • Search your email for “Easy Paint Pro license key”, and check your spam or junk folder.
  • Still can’t find it? Contact us with the email address you bought with, and we’ll send it again.
How many Macs can I use it on?

A personal license works on 1 Mac at a time. You can move it to a different Mac whenever you like (see Moving to a new Mac). For a classroom, lab or team, see school and business licenses.

Do I need the internet?

Only to download the app, to activate your license once, and for a quick license check about every two weeks. If your Mac is offline, Easy Paint Pro keeps working.

Can I get a refund?

Yes. If Easy Paint Pro isn’t right for you, ask within 14 days of buying for a full refund, no reason needed. After a refund the app goes back to view-only. See refunds.

Is it on the Mac App Store?

Yes. Easy Paint Pro is on the Mac App Store, free to download with the same 7-day trial, and the full version is an in-app purchase. Purchases on the Mac App Store and on this website are separate, so a license key from this site won’t unlock an App Store copy.

Installing and updating

Will it run on my Mac?

You need a Mac with Apple silicon (M1 or later) and macOS 14 Sonoma or later. To check, choose Apple menu ▸ About This Mac: it should list an Apple M-series chip.

How do I install it?
  1. Open EasyPaintPro.dmg from your Downloads folder.
  2. Drag Easy Paint Pro onto the Applications folder.
  3. Open it from Applications or Launchpad.
macOS says it can’t open the app

Easy Paint Pro is signed and checked by Apple, so it should open normally. If you see a warning, make sure you downloaded it from easypaintpro.com, then open it from your Applications folder rather than from inside the disk image. If it still won’t open, tell us the exact message.

How do I update?

Easy Paint Pro checks for updates on its own. To check now, choose Easy Paint Pro ▸ Check for Updates…

Moving to a new Mac
  1. On the old Mac, choose Easy Paint Pro ▸ Deactivate This Mac…
  2. Install Easy Paint Pro on the new Mac and enter the same license key.
  3. Copy your pictures and .eppworkspace files across like any other files.

A license can move to a different Mac up to 3 times in 30 days.

Old Mac lost, broken or already wiped? Contact us with your order email and we’ll free up your license.

How do I uninstall it?

Quit Easy Paint Pro and drag it from Applications to the Trash. Your pictures stay wherever you saved them.

Using the app

Which files can it open and save?

Open PNG, JPEG, TIFF, GIF, BMP, HEIC, JPEG 2000, WebP, SVG and PDF pages. Save as PNG, JPEG, TIFF, BMP, GIF, HEIC, JPEG 2000, WebP or PDF, and export SVG. Save a .eppworkspace to keep layers, tabs and editable objects.

How do I switch to the Classic look?

Choose View ▸ Skin, or press Control–Command–K. In Classic, pick Sky Blue, Veggie Green, Pebble Gray or Night from the colour-scheme menu.

Does it upload my pictures?

No. Easy Paint Pro works entirely on your Mac. It has no account and no analytics, and your pictures are never sent to us. See the privacy policy.
